WaterIf the plants are attached to a piece of wood or rock then you must water them once a week with optimal light conditions suggested above. If plants are being kept unattached then you should be soaking them in a glass of water for 20 - 30 minutes 2 to 3 days a week for optimal care. Remember to place plants in a sunny area for 3 - 4 hours and allow them to dry out thoroughly before placing them back in your tank.
Plants that are in bloom should be gently rinsed instead of soaked. |
MountingAir plants can be mounted to a variety of different objects such as woods, rocks and shells. The easiest way to mount a plant is by using E6000 glues which is both plant safe and waterproof. Make sure to choose a type of wood that is resistant to water such as cork bark, mopani root or grape wood.
Other options for mounting include using fishing line or wire that is gently wound through the leaves and wrapped firmly around the object you're attaching it to. This allow for the root system to take hold over time. |
Tips & TricksMake sure to mount the air plant upside down when mounting bulbous air plants that can collect water at their base. This helps prevent the plant from rotting where the glue is.
Make sure sure to only mist or dunk plants that have been mounted, this also helps to prevent rot. Always shake off excess water when at all possible. |
