Pro Tip:
Snakes eat specific amounts of their body mass and require a minimum amount of weight fed to them every feeding. Some snakes require up to 15% of their own body mass per feeding to stay in good health. Make sure to purchase your rodents based on the required weight total. For example if your Ball Python weighs 2 pounds and requires 15% of its body mass each feeding then it needs roughly 300 grams of feeder rodents or roughly 2 - 3 of our small rats every feeding. Make sure to check labels on packaging or weigh your rodents using a food scale in order to get the appropriate amount fed to your snake. Day old chicks are a natural staple for many types of cats, snakes and birds of prey both domestic and wild. They weigh approximately 40 grams each and are a great addition to your pets diet since they adds variety which can help make up for deficiencies that may be present from constantly feeding only one food type. They're also helpful for finicky eaters. Don't be alarmed if your pets excrement smells after eating day old chicks for the first few times as their digestive system is simply adjusting to the new diet.
