Basic InfoMopani is commonly used by aquarium hobbyists because of it's exotic combination of bright reds and browns. Because of it's density and heavy weight it sinks very easily.
The mopani comes in a variety of sizes and is sold by the pieces or by the pound. Most pieces rang from 6 to 18 inches in length and 3 to 5 inches in diameter. Pieces weigh 1 - 10 pounds. |
Durability & SafetyMopani is very resistant to water and decomposition in general. It does not rot very easily making it ideal for not only aquariums but also vivarium's, bioactive setups with high moisture and heat and terrariums.
All mopani comes pre heated treated and is terrarium safe. No bacteria or small insects on or inside the wood. |

AirPlantsBecause mopani does not rot very easily it makes a great base for attaching all types of airplants using plant safe glue that can be purchased at your local home depot.
Other specialty plants can also be attached but may have more stringent requirements to keep alive. Airplants are very hardy when attached to mopani and typically only need to be sprayed once every 2 days with medium light. |
